Mystery of Dlundung (MKBI)
It was supposed to be a simple and save adventure and more like family picnic to me. What we had planned was just spend a couple of nights install a mini tent somewhere around the camp spot in Dlundung Waterfall district of Trawas west side of Mt. Penanggunan (1650 m, East Java) riffing a guitar, sing along…and get drunk of course. We were 4 young disturbed boys, tried to get rid off the boring home situation.
Mantri, the coolest guy among us. Not a big talker and he like to listen what people saying but when he says something it must be the funniest thing in the world. He play guitar more often than I do. Kliwir, aggressive good looking guy do stupid thing sometimes. What I remember about Kliwir since we’re a small boy that he is not so energetic. I always beat him for sprint. Mantri and Kliwir are friends of my childhood. Bowo, he knows everything and is smarter than anyone of us. Live in my environment after he moved from Surabaya a year before we do this trip. He suffered some kind of long term complication. We spend bunch of time together at home till one night we decided to do something else. Go camping. (more…)

Subaya Waterfall – Bali, Indonesia ~ Hidden Tropical Treasure
Bali has subjected to one of the most beautiful place in the world especially with its unique island and beaches around it. About 16.000 tourists has arrived in this island everyday. Most famous places such as Kuta beach, Dreamland beach, Padang-padang beach, Uluwatu temple, Ulun Danu temple etc. are known well by the tourists and contributed a lot to the country by its incomes and taxes. Simply inviting many expatriates come to Bali for investing. There is still many places as beautiful as the mainstream location. Deep inside the island there is many locations that only a few people ever seen. Hiding somewhere at Bangli resident there is an amazing waterfall (about 50 meters height) called Kutuh. Surrounded by the hills and covered with cold fresh air this place need some delicated touch to make it more pretty. There is a community called Bali Outbound Community (BOC) concern about Kutuh waterfall and the other unexplored places. To reach Kutuh needs 8 – 9 hours trekking comb the hills and rivers and that obviously need a good pair of shoes to do that. Start on the Subaya village walk down through the passage acrross the river and sometimes climb the bunch of rocks. Kutuh still need to be organize and will have a great alternative value for tourism in Bali.
If you stay at hotel in Denpasar, Kuta Sanur or Nusa Dua all you need is ask your driver to drive you to Subaya Village closed to Pucak Penulisan about 45 kms from Denpasar. At Subaya Village you will need a villager guide to get into the waterfall and there is Pak Wayan Mertaada or you can organize it with BOC crews.
All you have to prepare is a good pair of shoes, enough water, food, camera and great stamina for sure. Good Luck!
